Oliver Cottam took on the historic Donington Park circuit this weekend in rounds four, five, and six of the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB. The weekend presented a mix of challenges, but also showcased Oliver’s resilience and potential.

Practice and Qualifying

Friday's practice session saw a variety of weather conditions, with heavy rain giving way to clearer skies later in the day. This provided an excellent opportunity to adapt to different track conditions. However, qualifying proved challenging, with Oliver unable to match his earlier pace. Despite this, he secured 13th on the grid, knowing there was room to push forward in the races.

Race 1

Starting from 13th, Oliver focused on maintaining a clean and consistent race. His steady approach paid off, as he gained a position to finish 12th. It was a solid start to the weekend, laying the groundwork for further progress.

Race 2

In race two, Oliver started 10th after two consistent laps in qualifying. He capitalised on this stronger position, moving up two places to finish in P8. This marked a significant improvement, reflecting his growing confidence and racecraft at Donington.

Race 3

The final race of the weekend began with promise as Oliver started in a competitive position. Although an incident at the start led to a penalty, he still managed to bring the car home in P11. The result wasn't ideal, but it highlighted his determination to keep fighting through the challenges.

The Donington Park weekend was a mix of ups and downs for Oliver Cottam. While qualifying and race three brought challenges, the progress shown in race two was a clear positive. Oliver remains focused on building momentum and is eager to continue improving as the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB season progresses.
