About Porsche Sprint Challenge GB

This exciting championship adds an important tier to the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid in Great Britain, providing a new entry point and additional opportunities for aspiring race drivers.

Porsche Sprint Challenge Great Britain has generated huge interest, from new and existing drivers and teams plus fans alike. Its status as a one-make championship will ensure action-packed racing from the start as driver skill is, once again, placed centre stage.

Attracting both amateur and professional drivers competing in identical Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport cars, the championship will run two competitive categories: Pro and Am. While both will race on the same grid, each category will have its own points structure and championship table.

In addition to fantastic end-of-season prizes, other benefits of the championship include unrivalled national media exposure, TV and online live-streaming coverage, increased fan engagement and greater sponsorship opportunities.

About Xentek Motorsport

Xentek Motorsport are a multiple championship-winning race team based in Sheffield, Yorkshire. Focused on one-make Ginetta competition since their launch in 2014, the team has enjoyed immense success with no less than ten championship wins on their resume.

The team secured their first drivers’ and teams’ titles in the 2016 Ginetta GT5 Challenge when Ollie Chadwick guided them to glory. That began an incredibly successful track record for the team in that particular championship, with a repeat of double title glory coming in 2019 with Scott McKenna.

Alongside their GT5 accomplishments, they also picked up the 2017 Am class title in the Ginetta GT4 SuperCup with Jac Constable and the inaugural teams' title in the Ginetta GT Championship in 2023. These successes have been combined with spells in the Ginetta G40 Cup and GT Academy in recent years too.

Over 100 Years of THE COTTAMS

  • Oliver's grandfather, Alan, aged 91, is one of the last remaining people who competed in the original Chateau Impney Sprint.

A legendary star of the hillclimbing scene between 1953 and 2005, Alan scooped nine consecutive fastest times of the day at Prescott Hill Climb and several more at Shelsley Walsh.

Outside of racing, Alan was an engineer at Boulton & Paul at Wolverhampton.

  • Oliver's dad, Edward, has driven some rare pre-war Grand Prix cars and raced in the Silverstone Classic.

Edward said: “It’s very rare to find three generations still active in motorsport. Dad started racing in the early 1950s. I started racing when I was 18 in hill climbing, then went onto the track racing Cooper Bristols for customers.”

In another motoring connection, Edward’s mother Barbara is from the AJS family, her father and brother being Arthur and Ronald Stevens of AJS, a famous motorcycle firm.

  • Completing three generations of the family with a need for speed, Oliver has also been bitten by the racing bug and started out in karting, before getting his racing licence at just age 13.

From an early age his parents have encouraged him to participate and enjoy sport and like all things Oliver does, he embraces the challenge and works hard to achieve a result.

This year Oliver is racing in the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB, as well as studying on the prestigious Motorsport UK Academy DiSE course at Loughborough.
