Race Report: Silverstone
This weekend saw us head to Silverstone, where changeable weather conditions played a key role in the outcome of each session. The team made some solid progress during practice, but the races proved to be a mix of highs and challenges. Here’s how the weekend unfolded:
Friday's practice session went smoothly, and we were able to make some positive changes to the car. These adjustments helped us improve our performance heading into the weekend.
Qualifying was a bit of a mixed session. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the best performance on the first tyre run, which resulted in a lack of pace and forced us to go for a second new tyre run. On this second run, I wasn’t able to extract the maximum performance from either the tyres or the car. This ultimately placed us in P8 for both races.
Race 1
The track conditions were drying, and we opted for wet tyres, as did most of the grid. The decision paid off, and we managed to move up the field, finishing the race in P7.
Race 2
Race 2 didn’t go as planned. Unfortunately, I had a slight incident at the last corner of Silverstone, which led to a DNF. It was a racing incident with no fault on either side, so it couldn’t be avoided.
Race 3
Starting from the back of the grid due to the DNF in Race 2, we took a gamble with slick tyres as the track was drying. However, rain midway through the race hampered our pace, and we were unable to catch up to the leaders. Despite the challenges, we secured a respectable P6 overall for the weekend.
